Enrichment
Our education extends far beyond the classroom through a rich and dynamic enrichment programme designed to develop well-rounded, confident individuals. Students have the opportunity to take part in a wide array of activities including tennis and swimming lessons, cricket club, and chess club, as well as music tuition for those wishing to learn an instrument or join one of our ensembles. A varied calendar of social events, water sports excursions, and cultural trips into Edinburgh — from galleries and museums to live theatre — allows students to explore the world around them and build meaningful friendships. We also host regular talks from distinguished professionals across industries, alongside career planning sessions and mentoring opportunities that help students envision and shape their futures. This extensive programme ensures that every pupil can discover their passions, build lasting confidence, and flourish in all aspects of school life.

We offer a flexible and supportive fee structure designed to meet the diverse needs of our families. Pupils may attend as day students, or opt for a variety of boarding arrangements, including two or four nights per week, term-time boarding for Sixth Form students, or our convenient flexi-boarding option, allowing families to book overnight stays on an as-needed basis. Boarding not only provides greater structure and independence, but also fosters confidence, resilience, and social development — qualities that serve students well throughout life. With more time to engage in a wide range of enrichment opportunities, from team sports and chess club to theatre outings and evening study sessions, boarding life at Beckminster Crest is both fulfilling and formative. Full details of tuition and boarding fees are available from our Admissions Office, and we are always happy to discuss which option best suits your family’s needs.

Student Testimony
“From the moment I could walk, I wanted to swim — but not just any
swimming. I’ve always been fascinated by the grace and freedom of
mermaid swimming. I started lessons when I was six and never looked
back. When I joined Beckminster Crest, I was nervous about whether my
passion would be taken seriously. But from day one, the school not
only encouraged me — they celebrated it. My coaches helped tailor my
fitness schedule, and my teachers supported me with flexibility when I
needed to train or travel. I was incredibly proud to be awarded a
Beckminster Crest Scholarship, which recognised my dedication and
helped me push my goals further. Thanks to the school’s unwavering
support, I’m now preparing for my first adult competition at the World
Mermaid Championship — something I used to only dream about. At
Beckminster Crest, I’ve learned that being different isn’t just
accepted — it’s empowered.”
